Tours & excursions

If you are interested in a tour of the Sacred Valley, Choquequirao or Machupicchu please e-mail us in advance and we can arrange your driver and/or guide. Guides are also available for walking tours of Ollantaytambo "The living Inka town", the ruins and beyond.

The entrance to the  Inka Granaries of Pinkuylluna Mountain lies just in front of Picaflor Tambo and the Temple of the Sun ruins are also very near us in town. Other interesting touring, horse riding, picnicking and walking options from Ollantaytambo include the Inka Watana astronomical observatory, the enchanting Quelloracay Inka residence ruins and the uniquely carved Temple of Ñaupa. Across the valley floor, you can hike to the Cachicata Stone in the one of the abandoned Inka quarries which originally supplied the huge masonery blocks for the Temple of the Sun in Ollantaytambo.

The Sacred Valley has many spectacular and colorful indigenous festivals full of folklore and we are most happy to arrange your experience of them during your stay with us.

Additional tours passing by the impressive Inka terraces, the small colonial church at Markacocha and through colorful indigenous communities and the spectacular rural mountain countryside are also available, providing the opportunity to visit the weaving village of Willoq and interact with the friendly Quechua inhabitants. This trip can also offer the chance to explore the highland community of Patacancha and enjoy its peace and tranquility.

Longer hiking tours to the pre Inka Citadel of Pumamarka and the Lagoon of Yanacocha from where the Inka originally channeled water to Ollantaytambo 14kms away can also be arranged for energetic trekkers.

Of course, nearer to Picaflortambo you can enjoy the Inka water channels from our balconies.

Please enquire so we can make your tour arrangements prior to your arrival with us.
